19TH FEB 2010 FIRDAY.

The day started with a bad news that my old truck needs repairs.. holy gosh it would cost me a pretty 20000/-. I
GQY 5068 . a 1982 modle…..
I am his 5 th owner. Well I don’t even don’t know when he was bought and why. My dad just asked me to sign a few pappers and the next day I came to know that I know own a truk. Well that was back in 2001 . I was studing at that time. I really became familiar with it when my dad passed away in 2005 living behind this only truck and a good amount of unmovable property and a debt of only 20% of the total inheritance. An
d no cash ofcourse. (Well I would tell you about those times when I tell you things about my dad). So the only money printing machine that I had was this old truck. And oh boy he was really in a very bad shape. he was a water tanker, and was really worn out. His tyres were gone, cabin was swaying, its tank had many hole from where water leaked and it s chassis had a crack. In a way it was as good as scrap. Thank god there are no traffic police in the area or they would had me behind bars for being inhumen towards this old truck. But I had very little options or any better choice then to keep it running and runnig. And so It kept running and running.
He was a one man show running three shows all alone. Well I cant tell you the name of the shows for now. but with the help of few good people and coz of my dad s goodwill it kept running and running.
(Breakdowns were in inevitable and there were a lots of them. But the breakdown never affected his work. I don’t know why or how or what it is but he has never stopped on the way. Either it happens in my yard or when he reaches his stop and had completed the given task. It really amazes me but trust me it’s a fact. Its been 5 years with him and it has never happenend that he stoped on the way. So back to the story now.)
My finical situation at that time was really too crunched. So crunched that sometimes just to go to the offices sometimes to collect the payments I had to borrow money for my bik
es petrol. Those times did teach me a lot. But even that is to be told in some other story.. so most of the time when he brokedown I had mostly to borrow money from someone to get it repaired. Life wasn’t easy back then. But my friends did help me a lot.
So when the showed the signs that it could run nomore, I took help. One of my friend helped me with the tires the other with the tanker the other with the chassis and I managed for the cabin. So by now the only thing that remains in him which is his own is just his engine.
Let me tell you another secret. Most of the parts of 1210 modle of a truck are readily available from scrap yards and that’s where I get most of my spares. Cost cutting you know. Had to do it. Afterall m a gujrati businessman
When it got repaired and got a new face it started paying me back handsomely. He had a very big role in making me stand on my feets again. Just imagine, me being just 20years old, my bro eighteen. No help form any where other than my friends no fixed income no cash and a debt of 24 lakhs can make one go crazy. Slowly slowly business grew and I now have three trucks and a tractor. And just half the debt. M not saying that its all because of him or that it would ha
d been not possible without him but he did play an important part and without him it would hadn’t been that easy.
Anyways now have to get it repaired. Got to get my money printing machine on line……bye.
